Oaxaca Province, Mexico

About The Location & History

After serving in Oaxaca for seven years, God led Isaac and Marifer Quezada to relocate to the city of Puebla, Mexico, in 2024. Their core ministry goals remain the same—music education, equipping Christian leaders, and promoting women’s health—but are now being carried out in the context of big-city Puebla and its surrounding rural areas.

As teachers, their mission is to share the gospel through education. While Puebla is a large and prosperous city, there are still many underprivileged and unreached neighborhoods, as well as rural communities nearby. After a year and a half in Puebla, Isaac and Marifer are gaining greater clarity about how and where God wants to use them for His kingdom.

Who Are We Partnering With?

The Quezada Pérez family is a blend of Mexican, Canadian, and American backgrounds. Isaac and Marifer first met at a music camp in 2014, and have now been happily married for nearly eight years. They are parents to two young daughters, Esmeralda (3) and Miriam (14 months).

Teaching has always been central to their ministry. They are confident that God brought them to Puebla to continue serving through education—specifically in music, biblical teaching, and women’s health.

What’s The Initiative?

Music Workshops
Continuing the work they began in Oaxaca, Isaac and Marifer aim to bless rural churches in Puebla through music. Their vision is to train aspiring musicians to serve in worship ministries within their congregations.

Community Choir
A long-held dream of theirs is to form and direct a children’s choir. The local municipal government has expressed support for hosting music classes at town hall, and their goal is to launch this project in 2026.

Women’s Health
Marifer has been involved in prenatal and postpartum care since 2016 and is passionate about women’s health. Although Puebla is a modern, high-tech city, there remains a significant lack of education surrounding pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn health, and lactation. Marifer hopes to become a certified perinatal educator and begin offering community prenatal classes. This initiative also provides meaningful opportunities to share the gospel in the context of health and family life.

  • Providing private piano and voice lessons.

Tatiana's Story

From a very young age, Tatiana had a heart for serving children. After a short trip to help at an orphanage in Haiti in 2014, she was ready to go all in to serve the less fortunate children of the world. Tatiana was the driving force behind the family moving to Peru, and she loved the children of Peru.

In the summer of 2018, Tatiana Blackburn died tragically in a car accident. To honour her memory, the Blackburns started a fund called Tat’s Kids Peru. This fund was designated for the children at Tat’s Place to support the ongoing operation of the home.
