Investing in Nebaj’s Future

In the quiet mountain town of Nebaj, Guatemala, something extraordinary is happening.

Nestled beside the growing medical ministry of Servicios Médicos Vida y Esperanza, the Hebron Vida y Esperanza School is doing far more than teaching ABCs and 123s. It’s nurturing hope, restoring dignity, and strengthening the very foundation of the hospital it stands beside.

With 60 students currently enrolled—and more hoping to get in—this unique school offers high-quality, values-based education in English, making it one of the most sought-after learning environments in the region. Parents, many of whom work as doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and support staff at the hospital, send their children here knowing they will not only receive an excellent education, but also grow in confidence, creativity, and character.

And for these parents, the school is more than a blessing—it’s a reason to stay. In rural areas like Nebaj, retaining skilled medical staff is a constant challenge. But when hospital staff see their children thriving, motivated, and speaking English, it strengthens their commitment to continue serving the local population through the hospital.

Why This School Matters

Many families in Nebaj would never dream of being able to afford a school like this. But thanks to generous donors and the vision of Carolina (who leads the school), these children are given opportunities that open doors to a brighter future—something their parents never had. The school provides more than textbooks and lessons. It offers art and music classes, character-building activities, and a safe place for students to discover their potential.

The community has taken notice. The school is so popular that enrollment has reached capacity, and sadly, some students had to be turned away. Next year, that number could rise to over 70 if resources allow.

The Need: A Goal of $150,000

To meet the growing demand and continue offering this incredible program, we are seeking to raise a minimum of $150,000. This will help cover:

  • Teacher salaries

  • Student tuition sponsorships

  • Art and music supplies

  • Certification and curriculum development

This initiative is part of ImpactHope’s wider focus on education, especially as we prepare for the Back-to-School season this fall. Over the coming months, we’ll be spotlighting other education projects in places like Haiti, Kenya, and Cuba—but today, we ask you to consider the story unfolding in Nebaj.
