In many rural communities across Zambia, pastors and Christian leaders are the backbone of society. They are the ones who counsel families, guide the youth, and spread the hope of the gospel. But sadly, most of them lack formal theological training and the resources needed to effectively lead their churches and impact their communities.
That’s where The Grace Project Training Center (TGPTC) steps in. This transformative initiative is providing high-quality biblical education, leadership training, and even practical business skills to pastors and ministry leaders, equipping them to serve with wisdom, confidence, and sustainability.
A Year of Growth and Impact
The past year has been a season of exciting change for TGPTC. In 2024, the center transitioned to a centralized campus model, starting with 13 students in morning classes. Later, a distance learning program was introduced, expanding access to rural pastors who cannot travel to Lusaka for in-person training. Though still growing, the distance program enrolled 9 students, bringing the total student body to 22 pastors-in-training.
In April 2025, TGPTC will celebrate its largest graduation class to date, with over 50 students from the main campus, distance learning, and satellite community campuses receiving their certificates. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of students, faculty, and generous supporters who make this possible.

At TGPTC, the focus isn’t just on spiritual development—pastors are also trained in entrepreneurship and leadership so they can support themselves and their ministries financially. Many pastors in Zambia struggle to provide for their families, making it difficult to focus on ministry full-time. By equipping them with business and management skills, TGPTC is helping them build sustainable income streams while continuing their pastoral work.
As part of their Missions, Evangelism, and Discipleship course, students at TGPTC put their training into practice. In a recent evangelism outreach, students presented the gospel to 64 individuals, and 31 people made the decision to follow Christ!
Through a partnership with ShareWord Global, students are learning how to boldly share their faith in their communities. This hands-on training ensures that they leave TGPTC not just with head knowledge, but with the confidence and passion to make an impact.
From Struggle to Strength: Pastor Mumba’s Journey
While many pastors have the heart for ministry, distance, finances, and lack of resources prevent them from getting the education they desperately need. TGPTC is bridging this gap by developing its Distance Education Program, allowing pastors in remote villages to receive training without leaving their communities.
In the small village of Chisamba, Zambia, Pastor Mumba has been faithfully leading his congregation with a deep passion for the gospel. But like many rural pastors, he faced significant challenges—limited access to theological training, financial struggles, and a lack of proper ministry resources.
For years, Pastor Mumba relied solely on personal study and mentorship to guide his church. He longed for a deeper understanding of scripture and practical leadership skills that would help him disciple his congregation more effectively. However, attending a Bible college in Lusaka was out of reach—the distance was too great, and financial constraints made it impossible.
When Pastor Mumba heard about The Grace Project Training Center’s Distance Education Program, he knew it was the answer to his prayers. Now, through this accessible and flexible training, he is learning theology, leadership, and practical ministry skills—all while continuing to serve his church.

But his journey hasn’t been without obstacles. Like many rural pastors, financial hardship remains a major barrier. Many pastors in his village earn below the minimum wage as small-scale farmers, making tuition payments difficult. Some communities have even suggested paying in kind—offering maize and other farm produce in exchange for education.
