HEALTH CARE

Around the world, poverty and poor health are closely linked. For millions, the causes of poor health are rooted in political, social, and economic injustices. Poverty and low-income status are associated with various adverse health outcomes, including shorter life expectancy, higher rates of infant mortality, and higher death rates.

Poverty is both a cause and a consequence of poor health: poverty increases the chances of poor health, and poor health traps communities in poverty. Impoverished and vulnerable people may have to make difficult choices – knowingly putting their health at risk so that they can use their scarce resources to feed their children.

ImpactHope is committed to finding long-term solutions to impact the health of those living in poverty.
