Safe Water, Healthier Families

For many families in rural Malawi, access to clean drinking water remains a daily challenge. Unprotected wells are often the only available source of water, leaving communities vulnerable to waterborne diseases and poor health.

Impacting Families Through Water Purification Sachets

Stelia Macheke, a young mother of twins living in Katsekaminga Village, knows this reality all too well. Like many of her neighbors, she relied on water from an unsafe well to meet her family’s daily needs.

Everything began to change when the Water Purification Sachets Program was introduced in her community.

“Water Purification Sachets have a great impact in my family and community,” says Stelia.

Today, her family is able to purify the water they collect, making it safer to drink and reducing the risk of illness. As a result, her household is healthier than before, giving her greater peace of mind as she cares for her young children.

“My family is enjoying safe water for drinking and is healthier than before. May this program continue since we are still getting water from unsafe wells,” she shares.

Safe Water Campaign

Stelia’s story is one of many examples of how access to clean water can transform lives. A simple water purification sachet can help protect families from cholera and other waterborne diseases, improve health outcomes, and reduce the burden on already vulnerable households.

Through our partnership with Pastor Moses Chikuta and the Christian Faith Community Church in Malawi, thousands of families have benefited from water purification support, hygiene education, and community health initiatives. Yet the need remains great. Many communities still rely on unsafe water sources and continue to face the threat of disease outbreaks.

A recent campaign held at Katsekaminga Community in Dedza District attracted over 328 attendees, including local chiefs and community members.

Support Vulnerable Children and Women: Take Action TODAY

Today, thousands of water purification sachets are ready to be sent to Malawi through a generous Gift-in-Kind donation. They have the potential to provide hundreds of thousands of litres of safe drinking water for families like Stelia’s.

But there is one critical obstacle: we urgently need funding to get them there.

Without support for shipping, transportation, and distribution, these life-saving supplies cannot reach the communities that need them most. Every week of delay means more families continue to rely on unsafe water sources, leaving children and vulnerable adults at risk of cholera and other preventable diseases.

Your gift today will help place them into the hands of mothers like Stelia, protecting families with something many of us take for granted: safe drinking water.

If you’ve ever wondered how a single gift can make a tangible difference, this is one of those opportunities. Together, we can ensure these donated supplies become clean water, healthier children, and hope for thousands of vulnerable families across Malawi.

Tatiana's Story

From a very young age, Tatiana had a heart for serving children. After a short trip to help at an orphanage in Haiti in 2014, she was ready to go all in to serve the less fortunate children of the world. Tatiana was the driving force behind the family moving to Peru, and she loved the children of Peru.

In the summer of 2018, Tatiana Blackburn died tragically in a car accident. To honour her memory, the Blackburns started a fund called Tat’s Kids Peru. This fund was designated for the children at Tat’s Place to support the ongoing operation of the home.
