For more than 20 years, KEDHAP Foundation has faithfully served vulnerable communities in western Kenya through HIV/AIDS care, education, girls’ empowerment, and community development. Thousands of lives have been transformed because of the generosity of faithful supporters.
Today, KEDHAP is taking an exciting next step.
We are pleased to launch the KEDHAP Social Enterprises Campaign—a long-term initiative that will create sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable families while strengthening KEDHAP’s ability to serve its communities for years to come.
Moving Beyond Aid
As international funding for HIV/AIDS programs continues to decline, community organizations across Kenya are facing growing financial pressure. While the need remains great, KEDHAP believes the future lies not only in meeting today’s needs, but also in creating opportunities that enable people and communities to thrive.
Through a series of locally managed social enterprises, KEDHAP aims to create employment, equip people with practical skills, and generate income that can be reinvested into its life-changing programs.
This is about building dignity, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
The First Step
The campaign will begin with the development of a 100-hive community beekeeping enterprise.
The project will train and employ people living with HIV/AIDS, women, and other vulnerable community members while producing high-quality honey for local markets.
The expected results include:
- Campaign Goal: $16,000
- Employment and skills training for 30 participants.
- Approximately 1,500 kg of honey produced each year.
- Additional household income to help families afford food, healthcare, education, and other essential needs.
- $8,000 to $10,000 annually generated for KEDHAP programs after the first year, revenue that will help sustain KEDHAP’s programs well into the future.
As the campaign grows, KEDHAP plans to introduce additional social enterprises that expand employment opportunities and further strengthen the ministry’s long-term sustainability.
Creating Lasting Impact
The success of these enterprises won’t simply be measured by products sold or revenue generated.
It will be seen in children who remain in school because their parents have a reliable income. In families who can afford nutritious meals and healthcare. In women and vulnerable individuals who gain valuable skills, meaningful employment, and renewed confidence.
Every enterprise has the potential to create a ripple effect—strengthening families, empowering communities, and ensuring KEDHAP can continue serving those who need it most.
This is more than a fundraising campaign. It is an investment in a future where communities are equipped to flourish with dignity, resilience, and hope.
We invite you to join us as we begin this exciting new chapter.
