When healthcare regulations changed earlier this year, the mission remained clear, but the path required adaptability. To ensure expectant mothers continued receiving safe, compassionate birth care, Casa Compasiva established a strategic partnership with Santa Ursula, a private clinic in Oaxaca.
Among the first parents to experience this birth partnership were Amadeus and Katerin. Welcoming their newborn in a peaceful and dignified setting, they shared how deeply valued and supported they felt throughout their journey into parenthood.
Bringing Health and Faith to the Mixteca Region
The impact of your support extended into the remote Mixteca region during a vital multi-disciplinary outreach trip. A team of healthcare professionals and ministry leaders—including doctors, dentists, nurses, doulas, and pastors from Canada, Mexico, and the United States—served two key communities: Santiago Buena Vista and Santiago Huauclilla.
Over two days, the medical team completed 100+ dental and medical consultations, distributed hygiene supplies, and shared devotional literature with local families.

Each session closes with a dedicated devotional time, providing space to point growing families toward spiritual hope.

Postpartum care at Casa Compasiva deeply respects local heritage. One of the most requested services is the traditional herbal postpartum bath, which incorporates the ancestral rebozo hip-closing technique passed down through Indigenous midwives.
Doulas at Casa Compasiva complete specialized training to facilitate this restorative ritual safely, honoring cultural identity while serving new mothers with excellence.
